Singing Through the Anguish
In the place of a full blog this week, I wanted to share some songs that have helped me sing through seasons of anguish. I also wanted to share the new song we sang together on Sunday. As it turns out- here are 5 songs for Psalm 6. I hope these songs help you express your heart to the Lord.
· Hold Me Jesus. This Rich Mullins song is still one of my favorites in anguishing moments.
· Though You Slay Me. Shane and Shane have such a beautiful way of giving words to worship in a broad spectrum. This song became a fast favorite during one of my darkest seasons.
· Anywhere. The Gray Havens are so good at storytelling in song. This song, which is relatively new has quickly become a favorite listen on days when the anguish feels attached to location/season of life.
· The Goodness of Jesus. This CityAlight song is so powerfully healing to our sorrow ladened souls. I am so glad that we get to sing it together as a family of faith.
· Lord From Sorrows Deep I Call. We sang this Matt Papa and Matt Boswell song on Sunday. What a treasure Ben has found for us- I am looking forward to singing it again soon with our family of faith.
