The Art of Faith

Trust is difficult in these days. Much of what we were sure of has changed. Much of what we were certain could not change has changed. But in a world full of uncertainty we have a unique opportunity to make sure that we are placing our trust in God alone. His unchanging nature and character are the bedrock on which we can build our lives. As we wrap-up the “Psalms for the Souls” series, it is good for us to focus on trusting God. The art of faith is tricky in this moment of history, but not more difficult than it was in times past. Our work as the people of God is to continue to trust God’s steadfast love (HESED!) even as He continues to work on our behalf.

    will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,

    my God, in whom I trust.” (Psalm 91:1-2)

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,

    for his compassions never fail.

They are new every morning;

    great is your faithfulness.

I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;

    therefore I will wait for him.”

The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him,

    to the one who seeks him;

it is good to wait quietly

    for the salvation of the Lord. (Lamentations 3:22-26)
