Worshipping the Creator

“It shows us what humanity is and specifically presupposes that “we can say human being only after we have learned to say God.” -Goldingay

“That Psalm 8 ends exactly as it began suggests that the greatness of humanity is never more fully realized than when it returns to a God who is greater still. Only when we can say, “O Lord, our sovereign”, can we truly experience the glory that is ours.” -Stephen Lennox

The worship of God as Creator puts us in a moon-like position. Here’s what I mean: the moon has no light of its own. It reflects the light of the Sun. Our work in worshipping God as Creator is reflecting His shine and magnificence back to Him. I hope you can get outside and enjoy all that our Creator is showing off and that it catches you up in awe filled worship.

Psalm 8 (Adonai, Adonenu)

Take a walk outside. Take time to notice the creation around you. Think on it until it draws you back up to the Creator.

Take time to be a ‘co-regent’ by nurturing creation around you. Grow something in the dirt. Pull some weeds. Water a plant. As you work, thank God for all His work and ask Him to bless your efforts.
